Keynote Session: A Look to the Future

Andy McMinn
The past eighteen months since the start of the pandemic, has been a challenging time for the NHS and NHS procurement practitioners. Supply chain disruption, supplier shortages and stock outs, whilst inflation seems to be on the rise, are all causes for anxiety amongst NHS procurement teams. Alongside this, NHS procurement teams are facing increasing demand for their services to support capital/revenue investment and operational recovery , the digital health agenda, PTOM and the small task of the NHS achieving Net Zero emissions by 2040. NHS procurement teams couldn’t be busier and many are struggling to cope. Andy McMinn has been at the forefront of NHS procurement for the last 14 years and is about to “exit the stage” and move to DEFRA in December 2021. In what may be his final conference, Andy will share a reflection on the current commercial environment and give his suggestions on what should be done.
